When children visit J. de Graffenried Dentistry, they receive the very best care.
We understand how important it is for children to feel safe and comfortable when they visit the dentist. In fact, we want your child's dental visit to be happy and fun so they can grow up without experiencing any fear or anxiety about visiting the dentist. Our entire team works hard to build trusting relationships and to provide a friendly atmosphere where children feel safe and happy.
Your child should visit the dentist no later than his or her second birthday. But good oral health begins at home, long before that first dental visit—and even before the first teeth appear.
- Clean a baby's gums daily by gently wiping them with a soft, damp cloth.
- Avoid putting an infant to bed with a bottle of milk or juice. These sugary liquids pool in baby's mouth and encourage bacteria to grow. As teeth begin to emerge, they pool around teeth and promote decay.
- When teeth begin to appear, brush daily with a soft, wet toothbrush.
- When your child reaches age 2, begin brushing with a small amount of fluoridated toothpaste. Help your child learn to spit out (not swallow) the toothpaste.
Just like adults, children should visit our office every six months for a regular dental exam and cleaning. Our friendly caring dentists and team will check your child's teeth for any signs of problems. As your child grows, our dentists may recommend fluoride treatments to strengthen your child's teeth and protect them from decay
If you have any questions or concerns about your child's oral health or development, please discuss them with us during your chld's visit or call our office at 903-218-4044.
We look forward to getting to know your family and caring for your family's dental needs.
